The Noguchi Museum’s Teen Advisory Board [TAB] is a paid internship for high school students. Each year, TAB interns plan projects that promote dialogue and inclusivity at the Museum.
This year, TAB interns will focus their conversations around anti-racism, and the establishment of art museums; considering the alternative path Isamu Noguchi took in creating The Noguchi Museum. After learning about museum structures and the social role of art, TAB interns will collaborate on a final project together.
TAB interns are paid a $750 stipend for the school year, receiving $375 at both the midpoint and end of the program. The Teen Advisory Board is open to 11th–12th graders attending New York City high schools. TAB meets every Wednesday from 4:30–6:30 pm, from November 10, 2021 through May 4, 2022. Meetings will take place at The Noguchi Museum.
All students must show proof that they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, along with an ID with information matching the proof of vaccination. Staff members are also required to be vaccinated. As well, all participants are required to wear a mask during the program and social distancing will be reinforced.
High School students who are interested in joining TAB must complete and submit this application no later than Thursday, October 19, 2021.
Students must also ask a teacher, advisor, or mentor to complete a short recommendation form, found here:
