NYCxDesign | Sage and Coombe: Noguchi Museum Renovation Archtober Preview

Thursday, May 16, 2019 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm

As part of NYCxDESIGN, the Center for Architecture will host an Archtober preview featuring five days of building tours across the five boroughs, with a focus on cultural institutions. On Thursday, May 16, Sage and Coombe present a tour of The Noguchi Museum as part of this series.

Sage and Coombe worked with The Noguchi Museum for more than a decade to renovate and modernize the historic building in three phases, affording the museum accessibility, allowing it to remain open year-round, and bringing it to the rigorous standards of contemporary museums – all while maintaining the unique character of the space. The renovation encompassed all areas of the museum building and garden, with construction on the final phase completed in Spring 2016. Register at aiany.org.
