ノグチの文化的アイデンティティーと、どこの世界に帰属するかという気持ちは複雑で、ノグチの作品制作に置いて欠かせないものとなりました。「私の創造性の素には所属したいという熱望があります。」このクラスではまず、所属とアイデンティティーというテーマをノグチの石の作品を通して探索します。その後、のみ、金槌、やすりといった彫刻の基本的な道具を使って軟石の彫刻の仕方を学びます。

年齢制限１８才以上；未経験者歓迎です。席に制限がありますので事前の予約が必要です。授業料は材料費と入館費を含みます。

Noguchi’s identity and feelings about belonging were complex and became part of his artistic process: “My longing for affiliation has been the source of my creativity.” Explore themes of belonging and identity in the galleries through a close examination of Noguchi’s stone sculptures. Then, learn techniques for carving soft stone in the studio using basic hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and rasps. 

For ages 18 and older; previous experience is not necessary. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Program fee includes admission to the Museum and materials.
