The Astoria Choir will premiere composer Karen Siegel’s choral sound installation Lessons of Stone throughout multiple galleries of the Museum. The performance is free as part of Free First Friday. Advance reservations are recommended.

Lessons of Stone is inspired by the work and life of Isamu Noguchi. Consisting of four movements performed with repetition, the work is intended as a self-guided sonic experience that can be heard in any order.

The Astoria Choir is a volunteer chorus based in Astoria, Queens, and founded in 2010 by Artistic Director Adam Eggleston. astoriachoir.org
