Bang on a Can Music Series: Issei Herr + Matt Evans

Sunday, August 27, 2023
4 pm–5 pm
Tickets include Museum admission / Free for members

Bang on a Can presents a monthly series of live concerts in the galleries. On August 27, join us for a double bill featuring solo performances by cellist Issei Herr and drummer/producer Matt Evans. A reception with light food and drinks will follow the performance.

Issei Herr mines her background as a classically trained cellist to create a new sonic world, exploring openness, vulnerability, and a sense of wonder in her intricately looped and layered compositions.

Matt Evans presents a solo electro-acoustic performance for drumset. Taking cues from millennial esoterica, natural phenomena, and science fiction, Evans creates drum-driven hypnotic soundscapes and improvisations.

Advance tickets for this performance are sold out. Tickets will be available at the door based on Museum capacity. Please contact with any questions.

Artists at Noguchi | Bang on a Can Music Series

Now in the thirteenth season, the Bang on a Can Music Series at The Noguchi Museum presents an eclectic mix of artists performing music that defies genres and engages with the imagination, memory, and subconscious realms—coinciding with the exhibition Noguchi Subscapes, a survey of Isamu Noguchi’s interest in the unseen and hidden. Concerts take place on select Sundays in June through September, at 4 pm.

Bang on a Can tickets include full access to The Noguchi Museum, and are priced the same as the Museum’s timed admission tickets: $12 general admission / $6 students and seniors / free for Museum members, children under 12, NYC public high school students, SNAP benefits recipients with a WIC/EBT card, visitors with disabilities and their carepartners, members of the press, and other free admission partnerships; see a full list of free programs at Walk-up guests will also be welcomed based on Museum capacity.

Seating is available for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors with special access requirements or accessibility questions may contact for assistance.
