“The nature of trees and grass is one thing. But there are many degrees of nature. Interstellar spaces are also nature. There is human nature. In the city, you have to have a new nature. Maybe you have to create that nature.” Isamu Noguchi
Join artist Sol Aramendi in a shibori dyeing workshop at nearby Socrates Sculpture Park. Discuss the integration between water and stone, and Japanese culture in Isamu Noguchi’s sculptures to inspire your process. After shibori dyeing, visit the East River to create connections with the water that surrounds us. All ages welcome. Participants will be given a free pass to visit The Noguchi Museum after the workshop. Registration will open Saturday, August 6.
