Deepening Knowledge

1969
Sculpture, Stone
I had come to think that the deeper meaning of sculpture had to be sought in the working of hard stone. Through this might be revealed its quality of enduring. The evidence of geologic time was its link to our world’s creation. To seek such a sculpture of time takes time. Myo, for instance, took nine years, 1957–66. Not for labor but for inadequacy of my imagination.
