Teen Open Studio: Exploring Akari & Identity

Friday, March 15, 2024
2 pm–4 pm

92NY’s Teen Arts Week offers a full schedule of free classes, workshops, and performances for teens all over the city. Registration for Teen Arts Week events is open to anyone ages 14–18 with a valid school ID.

Teens are invited to explore Isamu Noguchi’s Akari light sculptures and participate in art-making activities in the Education Studio. Participants will reflect on the prompt: “What gives you light, or makes you feel secure?” and create a collage using natural materials. RSVP includes free admission to the Museum and a swag bag including a family pass, teen programs postcards, artwork buttons, and other fun ephemera. This program is geared towards teens but adults are welcome; no artmaking experience is required.
