Art at Rainey Park

Saturday, July 31, 2021
10 am–3 pm
Free

Families with children ages 4–10 are invited to join Noguchi Museum educators and special guest artist Chemin Hsiao for art activities at Rainey Park, across the street from The Noguchi Museum. Learn about Chemin Hsiao’s and Isamu Noguchi’s artistic processes, and then work together or individually to make your own watercolor painting.

After registering here online, families can drop in to join us at any point during the morning or afternoon sessions.

Morning session: 10 am–12 pm
Afternoon session: 1–3 pm

All participants are required to wear a face covering and remain socially distant when engaging with Noguchi Museum staff, the artist, and other families. Materials will be provided in a kit, and families are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket to sit on while making art in the park.

Chemin Hsiao is a visual artist based in New York. In his artwork, he captures the personal emotions toward subjects or atmosphere, via the elusive connections from memories and cultural background. The method of watercolor painting serves as instant recorders for specific locations, events, people or ideas. cheminart.com
