I have made many studies of the cube. The year 1968 was that of the Red Cube at 140 Broadway in New York City. But I had made small versions in stone before then, from symmetry to asymmetry—also with Akari (light sculptures). The cube is flexible—the Red Cube is a symmetrical rhomboid. The distortions of my stone cubes are more complex.
