Hands-On at Noguchi | Sculpting Space: Casting with Plaster

Saturday, December 9, 2017 - 1:00pm - 5:00pm

“The essence of sculpture is for me the perception of space, the continuum of our existence...” Isamu Noguchi explored the idea of sculpting space in public gardens, dance sets, and sculptural works of cosmic spaces and lands. Participants in this program will examine a selection of objects currently featured in Self Interned, 1942: Noguchi in Poston War Relocation Center and learn basic casting techniques with plaster to create their own sculpted space.

Previous experience is not necessary. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Ages 18 and older. $10 members, $20 non-members. Program fee includes full admission to the Museum.
