Noguchi Museum members are invited to a breakfast reception and private curator-led tour of the newly-opened special exhibitions Akari: Sculpture by Other Means and Akari Unfolded: A Collection by YMER&MALTA, on view February 28, 2018– January 27, 2019.

 

Breakfast reception at 10 am; tour begins at 10:30 am.

Dakin Hart, the Museum’s Senior Curator, will lead a tour of The Sculpture of Gonzalo Fonseca (on view through March 11, 2018). Admission is free all day on March 2 as part of Free First Friday; advance registration is not required.

Film Screening: ‘Membra Disjecta: Gonzalo Fonseca and the Heart of Stone’ with Director Michael Gregory

Membra Disjecta: Gonzalo Fonseca and the Heart of Stone, a new biographical film by Michael Gregory, will receive a special advance screening at The Noguchi Museum in conjunction with The Sculpture of Gonzalo Fonseca. Membra Disjecta is a journey through the distinguished life of the artist Gonzalo Fonseca (1922–97), exploring his myriad influences from history, literature, archeology, art, architecture, music, travel, relationships and conversations. It includes the art Fonseca created and the material that filled his captivating life and timeless mind.
