Models BB1, BB2, BB3 stands

All "BB" Stands come with black cast iron base, bamboo pole, harp, socket, and extension rod for specific models. Different shades use different extension rods, which determine final height.
  1. Unwrap all parts. Carefully remove stand from packing material.
  2. BB3 should be placed on floor so that bamboo sections are aligned with each other. Pull electrical cord from inside cast iron base so that small bamboo section slides into larger bamboo section. Push extra cord into bottom of base.
  3. All bamboo stands should come with a threaded extension rod designed for the particular shade ordered. The lengths are 2", 6", 9", 12".
  4. The extension rod should be screwed into the top of the harp.
  5. Screw one of the threaded washers onto threaded extension rod, leaving approx. 1/2 inch of room.
  6. Attach shade by sliding over harp & extension rod. Some shades will have a crossbar at bottom of shade. This is attached by sliding the crossbar around the bamboo pole between the rubber o-rings. This allows you to adjust the amount the shade is stretched out. Other models only have the top crossbar; this attaches at the top of the extension rod.
  7. Secure top crossbar by screwing second threaded washer onto extension rod.

Helpful hints:
Keep stand away from strong wind, high heat, or moisture. When moving stand, pick up stand from the cast iron base, not by the bamboo alone.

Model: 33S/ BB3 Stand

  2. Next, take socket and screw socket bottom onto stem. Attach wires to socket and attach socket shell. Install light bulb (75 watts long-life pref.)
  3. The 2 horn shapes come with wire stretchers. Install wire stretcher in each, fitting ends over the inside knobs. Be careful not to tear paper or break the thin wood inner ring.
  4. Each horn shape has a numerical marking on the inside that corresponds with the marking on the varnished middle ring. Insert horn shape on the side indicated by the markings; they have been fitted individually. The horn shape should fit so its thin inner ring is concealed completely. Have someone help steady the middle ring as you attempt this. (horn shapes should point upward)

Note: An in-line switch has been provided to turn light on and off.
