Being Chess!
Saturday, January 14, 2006
Chess master Jennifer Shahade co-teaches this workshop introducing families to the game of chess. Participants will explore key elements of the game (the pieces, the board, strategic moves), have an opportunity to investigate a chess piece in the exhibition through a drawing activity and finally, engage in a movement-based activity in which they “become” the chess pieces in a game “played” by Shahade. Reservations are required.
Noguchi Museum Family Programs are supported in part through funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York State Council on the Arts, a State agency, and from the Independence Community Foundation.
