 Isaac Shapiro, longtime friend of Isamu Noguchi and retired partner at Skadden, Arps, Meager and Flom LLP, will read a selection from his soon to be released memoirs. A founding Noguchi Museum Trustee, Mr. Shapiro was born in Japan and raised there and in China. Fiding that they shared similar experiences in their formative years, Shapiro and Noguchi were able to forge a lasting friendship. His new book chronicles his family's travels under persecuttion during the early 20th century and his subsequent career in law and the arts.

Florent Ghys French avant-pop composer-bassist Florent Ghys performed compositions from his new CD, Baroque Tardif: Soli, an EP of home-recorded, multi-tracked music which combines minimalism, modern classical and indie pop. Ghys' intimate music transformed the gallery space, offering a different perspective and new experience of Noguchi's sculptures. May 9, 2010: Peter Randall-Page: Sculpture Peter Randall-Page discussed his practice as a sculptor during the past three decades, with particular reference to a number of large collaborative projects in the United Kingdom.

Peter Murray, the founding Director of Yorkshire Sculpture Park, in conversation with Noguchi Museum Curator Bonnie Rychlak, will explore aspects of sculpture in the landscape focusing on land-art, site specific projects, the artist's garden, and the choreography of exhibitions in the open air. Particular reference will be made to YSP and the exhibition "Isamu Noguchi in Yorkshire", which contained over 150 works and was curated by Murray and Rychlak.
