Morgan and artists Tomie Arai and Yun-Fei Ji will serve as panelists, providing unique perspectives on the future of Asian American art to which Noguchi’s legacy is a part.

Taylor Brown, whose grandfather was a prize-winning country fiddle player and whose father played the guitar, began making up songs on a plastic guitar at the age of three. In 2006, he earned a degree in classical guitar performance from Vassar College, while also touring with folk musician Kate Taylor. Mr. Brown has performed across the country with Ms. Taylor and as a solo artist, and has appeared with Carly Simon, Dar Williams, Felicia Collins, Levon Helm, and Tom Rush, among others. Gamelan Son of Lion, which began performing in 1976, is among the oldest of the approximately 100 active gamelans in the United States. It is also one of the few such groups that are not affiliated with an institution. Using instruments created from steel keys, cans, and hubcaps, among other materials, Gamelan Son of Lion concentrates on new compositions by ensemble members, American composers, and commissioned guest artists.
