2010 “SECOND SUNDAYS” PROGRAM FOR MAY 2010 PETER RANDALL-PAGE: SCULPTURE
Internationally acclaimed British sculptor Peter Randall-Page discusses his artistic practice of the past three decades, focusing on large collaborative projects in the United Kingdom and highlighting the influence on his work of Isamu Noguchi, with whom he corresponded while a student.
UK-based sculptor Peter Randall-Page has gained an international reputation through his sculpture, drawings, and prints. His work is included in numerous public and private collections throughout the world. In the UK, his public sculptures can be found in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, Oxford, and Cambridge, and he is represented in the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery and the British Museum, among other British institutions.
Mr. Randall-Page studied sculpture at the Bath Academy of Art and in 1999 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Plymouth. From 2002 to 2005, he was an Associate Research Fellow at Dartington College of Arts.
Mr. Randall-Page’s work was recently the subject of a major solo exhibition at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and in March 2010, his large scale commission Green Fuse opened at Jerwood Sculpture Park at Ragley Hall, in Warwickshire, England.
