Museum Shop Manager

The Noguchi Museum is seeking a resourceful retail manager for the Museum shop. This is a full-time position (Wednesday through Sunday) that includes full benefits.

Requirements   

Candidates should have a professional degree and at least two years experience managing a retail environment. Excellent experience with retail math, Quickbooks (or similiar point of sale program) is a must. A history of interest in the fine arts is preferable. The right candidate should also have merchandising and inventory management experience.

We are looking for an organized and proactive person with the ability to handle multiple areas of responsibility. The Museum Shop Manager reports daily to the Operations Manager as well as the Merchandising Manager. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service to Museum Shop patrons and take lead in all aspects of sales
  • Stock and clean the shop daily
  • Assist the Merchandising Department in completing inventory quarterly
  • Transfer stock from the merchandising warehouse to the Museum Shop
  • Manage Museum Shop's internal QuickBooks POS inventory
  • Facilitate staff communication regarding Akari and other merchandising products
